It's really been awhile since I've last updated this space of mine. In fact, I really don't know where to begin. I do have alot of things going on at the moment, but somehow the public sharing has gotten some unexpected scrutiny from people that I really want to keep my guard up against. As much as I've been sharing quite abit about on myself on twitter, I hesitate and there are certainly some things that I've kept within my friends and I.

Nevertheless, not wanting to lose the essence of why I started blogging in the first place. Here's a recent update! :)

Last weekend, the Awesome Possum People gathered for our first reunion dinner! Also, it was double celebration in light of Kay's 23rd! A really awesome and fulfilling dinner at Suki-ya, followed by our very first lou hei and cake!

After which, we headed down to Club Avatar before partying at Club Nana! :)

So it's the end of my holidays and it's back to the start of hectic school weeks! Nevertheless, I am but 5 months away from graduating with my degree! Definitely going through a whirlwind of emotions, feeling excited, scared and also a little sad that it's coming to an end.

I would have never expected that I would leave my uni life, having formed such great friendship with the best people. But I really am thankful. Thankful for having these people in my life, to keep me going even when I've hit rock bottom.

I realised that it's been awhile since I've blogged, aside from alot of reflections and emo posts. And in fact, I am really overdue with my entries that I don't know where to begin. But for what it's worth, let me share with you guys one of the recent good night out I had with a bunch of really awesome people :)

So about 2 weeks ago, I headed to Club NaNa with my friends! It's been a weekly affair for awhile now, either Friday or Saturday I'll be there! If I'm not at NaNa, I'll be at Club Avatar.

Since I'm updating, I'm currently having my school holidays! Which is awesome, if not for the first week of pia-ing for one of my work events that I've been planning and coordinating, second week of rushing out my school project! I can finally relax in the third week before 2012 comes!

Been feeling pretty down lately and I can't quite put my finger on it. Been really frustrated and upset, but I don't know why. To add, I've also been thinking about him alot lately, which really sucks because then I start to miss him. Thank god he's not on my twitter or tumblr, because if he was, he'd probably be gloating about how miserable I've been. Not to mention, I'm nursing what feels like a broken ankle :(

I will try my hardest to blog again soon! By the way, I really appreciate the encouraging emails and tags I've been getting. Thank you :)

I haven't been great and on most days, I feel like giving up. But rest assure that I'm trying my hardest to keep going.. for as long as I can.

Just Keep Going

Life's been moving at a pretty fast pace these few weeks. Whether it was school, intense mugging sessions, exams or just hanging out while weekends are spent partying like rockstars.

It's funny how I reflected over the weekend and realised how much I've changed in the past few weeks. Who would have thought that I'd be here today?

I used to be so depressed, that I'd cry at work, in school, at home and even when I was with friends. It was disturbing how suicidal thoughts crept into my mind and became untolerable. Every smile on my face was a mask of my dying, bleeding heart. A friend said to me, "Babe, I can see how fragile you are despite the smile on your face. The slightest mention of anything can trigger your tears and panic attacks. I can see through you."

Although I made the first decision to end things, I'll never get over being fooled into giving it one last shot and then replaced, within days/weeks of having a heavy commitment dropped on me with promises of a future together.

Well, I certainly have come a long way. I wouldn't say that I've recovered from a heartbreak down, but I'm coping. I really am. I still think about D every morning and every night, but I'd like to see it as recollections and memories of this person that I loved with all my heart.

Sometimes when I think about it, I don't see myself with him, yet somehow, I can still picture a future with him. Ironic much? But these chapters of my life are over now. All that I can do is re-read these memories of us like a book and relive the good times through words and pictures, evidently still depicted in my blog.

I certainly still do feel the heartache knowing how things have come to this, but it is what it is isn't it? It's funny how people that I've known through him come up to me and say things like, "I feel bad for you" or "Are you drinking so much because you're upset he's got a girlfriend?" or "Just move on la, there's so much waiting for you."

Well, it really isn't about who moves on the fastest. It is about dealing with my problems, my feelings and emotions and getting over the situation in the best possible way for myself. I don't want to make the same mistake of moving on with a rebound, because it wouldn't be fair to that person, knowing I still have these lingering feelings for D. This time, I want to do things right. For the people around me and more importantly, for myself.

It's hard to forget every detail that I made sure was etched in my memory. Like every mole on your face, the way you laughed, how you used to look at me and how mornings were best when it was waking up next to you. I kept my promise of telling you every day, that I love you and as selfish as I am, I remember telling you that, I just want you to be happy. I still do.

But over the last partying session, as I was embracing the temporary high and having a smoke, it dawned about me how I don't get fainting spells or end up bawling or pass out after each session anymore. All these weeks, nothing but good times. I'm glad, I really am.

I'll always remember how you are my Christmas; the first time we met. This Christmas would be the first that we'll be spending apart. Maybe someday we'll cross paths again, but until then, I wish you joy and love.

Christmas has always been my favourite festive season and in collaboration between Metro and Laneige, I was given this Limited Edition Laneige Holiday Makeup Kit to try out!

I am an absolute junkie when it comes to makeup and what more, if it’s Limited Edition! Also, I am quite a fan of Laneige’s Water Sleeping Pack and also their Loose Powder, so I was pretty excited to get my hands on these babies to try them out!

I received the Styling Romantic Blusher II (S$49), the Styling Romantic Eye Palette (S$45) and the Styling Lip Duo (S$32) in Coral Beige.

The products come in a pretty white and gold packaging, certainly bringing out the extravagant and romantic feel!

One thing that I liked about the products was the detailed baroque motifs embossed on the product itself!

The Styling Romantic Blusher II, which is a four-colour multi blusher, consists of a matte orange, matte peach, a shimmer rose and shimmer lemon for highlight! If you look closely, the shimmer rose has very pretty golden flecks in them!

The 3 colour multi-eyeshadow Styling Romantic Eye Palette that consists of a pearly beige highlight, a shimmery pink eyeshadow and a shimmery deep brown eye shadow.

Both the blusher and the eye shadow palette were surprisingly very pigmented and apply very easily. However, in order for the colours to appear more vibrant or to intensify your look, you would need to build up the layers on your eyelids! I would also suggest using an eye shadow primer prior to applying the eye shadow, so that it stays on longer.

The Romantic Styling Lip-Duo consists of a moisturizing tinted lip colour and gloss.

I absolutely love the lip-duo! Not only is it moisturizing, the colour is amazing!

Now if you guys don’t know, most of my obsessions are actually influences from my mum! My mum is quite particular about skincare and she absolutely loves make up too. She has quite a collection on her own, but there are days where she’d be digging into my drawers to test my products, vice versa.

So when I told my mum about the Laneige products, boy was she excited! This is a casual day look that she created with the products!

For the look that my mum created, she used more of the deep brown for the eyes. For the cheeks, she swept the matte orange and matte peach before adding a tinge of the shimmer rose on the apples of her cheeks.

Christmas has always been a rather dressy occasion for me, so I created a soft romantic dinner look!

For the eyes, I used more of the pearly beige and shimmery pink to create that soft romantic feel and lightly used the deep brown in the crease to create depth. To darken the look, I used black liquid eyeliner.

For the cheeks, I swept a mix of the matte orange, matte peach and shimmer rose. I then highlighted the top of my cheekbones and my nose with the shimmer lemon!

Bangkok Day 2

Didn't really get a good night's rest, so I woke up feeling really groggy on the 2nd day. But I was really excited because it was our designated shopping day! ^^

Woke up bright and early for breakfast at the hotel! :)

After breakfast, it was off to the city! We headed to the 4 faced Buddha for our first stop! Believe or not, we commuted via train! Took the MTR and then changed to the BTS to get to Ratchaprasong!

A random thought: while we were in Bangkok, we had no qualms about squeezing in the trains, but if we were Singapore, we would already have shot of in a string of complaints! The difference between a holiday and living in the country :/

Desperately trying to figure our way to the 4 faced Buddha. And yes, I was designated map reader and directions person in Bangkok as well. I'm awesome like that ;)

The 4 faced Buddha was about a 5 minute walk from the train station! Headed there to sight-see, pray and give our offerings. Took a really lousy picture cause I didn't know if it was okay to take pictures and I didn't wanna be disrespectful. But this is what it looked like!

Coming to think about it, I think my wishes did kinda come true, in some sort of way. So looks like I might just be back in Bangkok soon.. I hope.

After we were done at the 4 faced Buddha, our resident commanding officer/ YS forced us to walk all the way to Platinum Mall! I think the amazing thing about travelling with YS is, we don't ever get to lead our spoilt lives and because of that, there's so much more that we get to see and discover!

The walk to Platinum mall took about 15 minutes and the moment we got there, we practically shopped for 6 hours straight! I shopped so much, I could hardly carry my stuff :( I didn't get much stuff for myself but instead, I bought a gajillion things for everyone (which I got lectured for btw)

Thankfully, YS was awesome enough to help me with my loot! :D

We were supposed to head over to Rama 3 to meet up with YS's friend, but we ended up detouring to MBK for some last minute stuff. Believe or not, YS made us walk with all our shopping stuff for about 15 minutes, before we gave up and squeezed into a tuk-tuk (which was the ride of my life!!)

Thank heavens we did because it was like like a 10 minute drive?! Imagine if we were walking, omg.

Zhnged my BB at MBK while the rest shopped for electronic helicopters and aeroplanes. Time spent in MBK was terrible for me though, cause I was having a massive headache and started running a temperature :( But lucky for me, I am a walking pharmacy!

Once we were done running errands, we made our way to Tawandang German Brewery at Rama 3! We have an outlet here in Singapore btw. And for those who don't know, basically its an eatery with beer and live entertainment.

I was rather apprehensive about my visit, but I was surprised because I absolutely enjoyed myself!! The entertainment was really good! The songs and performances were a mix of Thai, English and K-Pop! Apparently K-Pop is very big in Thailand too! :D

After dinner, it was a last minute decision to head out to club! We wanted to visit Route 66(RCA) but we ended up at Funky Villa in Thonglor because YS's friends were there! It was a quick change up at the hotel before we cabbed over!

The club played really awesome live music and hip hop/rnb! Not to mention, we were partying behind the bar! The drinks just kept coming..

And because where girls go, drama follows.. We ended up skipping supper and heading back to our hotel where we concussed, no thanks to the insane amount of alcohol we had :/

What A Day

Just got home from Club Nana not too long ago.
Definitely a good experience and of course, it made me miss Thailand.

Thailand was a great experience, a great get away.
But ultimately, we all have to live in reality.

I've always wondered if I could ever find happiness.
Especially since, I've always been depressed.. since I was young.

And talking to my family, friends and colleagues have made me discovered,
that happiness is a temporary high. What I should seek, is contentment.

The past few months have been a really trying time for me.
Fighting off these demons in me and basically, holding on for a better day.
It's hard, but ultimately, I hold on while I still can and focus on trying to get better.

Truth is, I have achieved almost every goal that I have set out for myself.
Still, I don't feel content, let alone happy. Why? I still don't know.

There's always something I'm after and I guess what my psychologist
said was right. The expectations that I set for myself, are too high.

I thought hard about it. My parents don't pressurize me about anything,
or tell me how to live my life. All I ever get, is love and support.
But with all the past life experiences, nothing I do is ever enough to redeem myself.

I've been coping well these past few months, faithfully attending my
monthly appointment with both my psychiatrist and psychologist.
I'm slowly trying to get off anti-depressants.. but I end up being
extremely hyperactive and suffer from insomnia when I don't take them :/

Also.. I'm finally having an ultrasound next month and I hope everything goes well.

It's been awhile now.. but I hope that my friends can be true friends
and stop forcefully feeding me with their strong headed opinions.
I appreciate the concern, but I'd like to do things at my own pace.

Although the r/s never meant anything to him, it meant something to me.
Yes, I was at my worse when I was with him, but I was happiest too.
And for that, I owe it to myself to respect the past and let time heal everything.

I don't expect any of you to understand, but this is how I feel.
And a day, a month or maybe even a year, may not be sufficient.
But I will get there..

Bangkok Day 1

I am finally blogging about my Bangkok trip, 3 months later!! :X Been absolutely busy with both work and school, and I know you guys are tired of hearing that, but it is seriously omfg-damn-tiring.

Anyways, I've been wanting to get out of the country desperately for the longest time and my Bangkok trip was perfect timing. I aboslutely depressed, on the brink of suicide, when we decided to take off. My parents were really worried about my condition, but they were relieved to place me in the safe hands of my big bro and sisters.

Bangkok bound!

Hello Bangkok~!

The very pampered Kai and I were whining about how we shouldn't waste time and just take a friggin' cab to our hotel. But the ever so thrifty YS, made us take the train, before switching to the MTR to get to our hotel!

Being the paranoid me, I was constantly worrying about getting mugged and having my luggage stolen. At the same time, while we were on the train, we were trying to figure out how to get our SIM cards working, especially since everything was coming out in Thai -_-" But, we met a really friendly Thai resident that helped with some translation.

They don't even use no fancy cards. It's an old school plastic coin yo!

The funniest thing happened when we were at the MTR station! They had security scanners and since we had luggages with us, we had to go through a thorough security check. And to everyone's horror, when YS opened his luggage, he had tons of aerosol sprays in his bag! Like hairspray, shaving cream etc. And the security guy pointed to everything and said "GIVE ME."

The look on YS's face was priceless. He was seriously worried that his beauty supplies were gonna get confiscated! lolol. But of course, the security dude returned it to us and we were on our way to the hotel!

About 5 minutes walk from the MTR station, we finally arrived at our hotel, My Hotel@Ratchada.

The room was pretty small and I had a massively tiny balcony to smoke in (lucky me cause YS didn't have one), but it didn't really matter since we weren't going to spend much time in our hotel room. What mattered most was having the basic and convenient facilities.

After settling down and washing up, we headed over to YS and Alison's room for a little bit of Belvedere and Lucky's!

Hung out for abit, before we decided to explore the streets while waiting for YS's friend to come and pick us up! :D

Boy was I glad that we did some exploring, because I friggin' got my hands on apple guava!! Which is like my favouritest fruit on earth!! *nom nom nom*

After YS's friend finally arrived, we walked towards the night market near our hotel. It was seriously amazing. First time, street stalls for dinner! (which absolutely killed my weak stomach by the way) Not to mention, I also got beaten by the mother of all mosquitoes, a good 6-8 times and my legs were swelled up!!

The bites were starting to bug me, so we ended up in 7-11, sign languaging in desperation for mopiko, but ended up with Zam Buk.

After which, it was shopping at the night market! Kai bought like a good 3 pairs of shoes within the hour and street, while I managed to nail myself a pair of pretty black flats! I was so impressed with the night market near our hotel, I didn't think that I'd be impressed with shopping at Platinum Mall or Chatuchak! :/

Now that I've barely been in Bangkok for about 6 hours or less, how do you think I'm going to fair for the next few days? :/

This year's birthday was definitely the best I've ever had.

Getting There

Until today, I still think about him every single day;
When I get up in the morning and right before I sleep.
But there's no turning back. It is, what it is.

I know I initiated the break up..
But when I first found out, I was beyond words.
I spent 4 days lying in bed, without food, thinking
what did I do, to deserve being betrayed and cheated on.

He asked for one last try and I gave it the very last shot,
only to find out that days later, he was with someone else.

Until today, I still don't understand how after 6 years,
you tell someone that if she waited and when he's earned enough,
he will marry her; "N, this I can promise you. :)"
and days later, shit hits the fan.

My depression spiralled from bad to worse.

But as time went by, I started getting better and I am getting there.
I am however, still on prescribed medication and seeing both a
psychiatrist and psychologist to improve my condition.

I've never been the sort of person to delete people
off my list or cut contact, unless pushed to my limits.
And if that ever happens, there's no turning back.

My first love.
It's sad how it's come to this..

It's sad how I loved you with all my heart,
in the best way I ever knew and could,

But today, I finally mustered the courage to look through
our pictures that I still have on my profile and phone.
I smiled to myself, reminiscing the good times.

It's been awhile since I've blogged!
Oh how much I've missed blogging! :(
But with a massive increase of workload and school,
I already have problems juggling everything,
including my social life and sleep! :(

Anyways, Sarah used to be an intern in my company
and I'm pretty thankful that we've become really good friends since :)

She recently turned 21!
It was a pretty small and intimate affair,
but Kai and I were really glad to be part of it!

The villa at Capella is gorgeous!
Wanted to book the place for my birthday, but she beat me to it! lol

The theme for the party was retro,
but I was more obsessed with wearing the new that I had gotten :p

After months since I had gotten my blackberry replaced, it's been a boring black
and I hated it because it was so hard to find,
especially on days when I dump my phone in my bag.

So being in BKK, I couldn't miss the chance of getting my blackberry redone! Here's how it looks like now! I absolutely love it! It's a pretty pink and white, just how I like it! ;)

Anyways, I've been down with a terribly bad flu and viral cough. Still, I've been dragging myself to work because of the immense workload. It's a good thing though, because it keeps my mind off things and I've been less prone to suicidal tendencies :/ It's been 9 days and the scars are finally healing but still visible, but I think I'm going to be okay..

Late Night In The Office

Yesterday was my first day at work, with a new designation! The day kinda flew past, since I was busy learning and doing new things. It kinda kept me busy, until way past my knock off time! In the end, I stayed back a little later to have a sushi party in the pantry! :p

I wore my new dress, courtesy of Le Flirtini Absolutely love the dress! My colleagues said I look very shun nu in it. Makes me look pretty, :p

A rather simple yet detailed dress! Got alot of compliments on this one! Colleagues commented that the cut out embroidery was one of a kind and hard to find. Hehehe..

Class Outing (Part 1)

which was dinner at La Selle's 15 Minutes.

Basically our class is trying to bond, before we have a class merger in year 2.

Not much to blog about, because we spent most of our time
chatting and playing Monopoly Deal, lol.

Back From BKK

Hi guys! Sorry for the short hiatus. I took off to BKK for the weekend and swore I wasn't coming home. But the trip was epic and I'm back feeling better than before! I'm still on leave today and tomorrow, but I'm going to make the most of it because things are going to change come Wednesday! I gotta get my game on and prepare myself for the battles ahead. Light Up The Night

I had promised to accompany Val to her friend's birthday party,
so before that we met up for dins in town!

After the party ended, we headed down to Clarke Quay to meet a few of my classmates!
It wasn't a planned clubbing night, but we ended up at ChinaOne!

Psyched like mad when Val told me she brought her finger lights to play!

With what I've been going through, it's always good to have friends who
are willing to stand by you and pick you up each time you fall.

♥ my woobie! Gonna miss her when she leaves the company :(

Val and I have been friends for years, but it was only that
night that I realised never to play 5-10 with her.
Kena forced to drink like mad please!!

Then the party begins!

Ahem, we all know that alcohol is a depressant right?!

All was going well, until the live band started playing and I got
really upset, I burst out into tears and ran off.

I swear, nothing can be more unglam then sitting in the middle
of Clarke Quay, crying and having your make up & mucus run down your face.

And still, my friends tell me I still look pretty..

*SIGH*
Sometimes I wonder what did I do to deserve such good friends?
Yet at the same time, my life is so messed up in other aspects.

As always, we adjourned for brekkers at McDees after before calling it a night!

Elle Fashion Runway Show 2011

An overdue blog entry because I was really busy with work and school :X

Last month, the ever so thoughtful and sweet Suhana invited
me to attend the Elle Fashion Runway Show at Pacific Plaza with her!

Light refreshments were being served and there was a photo area to keep
guests entertained while waiting for the show to begin.
This was us, waiting for the show to start!

The host of the show was Yasminne from Class 95.
Her voice is really amazing!

I don't have much pictures from the show because there was this
particular photographer that practically stood in front of cameras each time
we wanted to snap a picture, and she wouldn't budge until the models walked off.

Yea la, I'm not using a dslr so I no up. Tsk tsk :(

Anyway, this is one of my favourite models and she looked damn good in this ensemble!
I really really liked what she was wearing!

After the show ended, Suhana and I went to have our pictures taken at the photo area,
where they gave us each a copy of the photographs taken! :D

On top of that, guests were handed a door gift which was a bagful of goodies!
Didn't manage to snap a picture because I got too excited and ransacked through it :p

I enjoyed myself, thanks again Suhana! :)

Tab @ Orchard Hotel

Headed down to Tab at Orchard Hotel with some of my classmates
and their friends a few weeks ago.

I've never been there before, but it was free entry
and free flow for the ladies during a certain time frame,
(can't remember what time, but I just remember Carista going,
now got free flow go take!).

The place kinda reminded me of Helipad. A nice place to chill, dance, with a lot of dancefloor space. I heard that they have live bands on certain days!

Enjoyed myself to the max, even though I was emo and cried for abit.
It's refreshing to hang out with a new bunch of people sometimes :)

Amore's Signature Stretchfit Class

I used to work out regularly, going to the gym to lift weights and also classes such as Kickboxing and Pilates at least twice a week. But ever since school started, I hardly ever get enough sleep, let alone have the time to exercise.

So after hectic weeks of having school, assignments and projects, I've finally managed to squeeze in the time to attend a fitness class at Amore Fitness.

After work ended, I headed to my favourite outlet at City Square Mall to attend a class.

For the benefit of those who have not been to Amore before, when you first arrive at the outlet, you would need to drop your membership card into either the class or gym box, at the counter (depending on which you are attending). Fresh towels are available at the counter.

Since I haven't been exercising regularly, I decided to attend a more slow paced class such as Stretchfit, which is one of Amore's signature classes. Stretchfit fuses unique multi-regional stretching exercises and regular breathing techniques to develop a serene mind, a flexible and strong body. Achieve a better range of motion for daily activities, improving coordination and strength, creating a sense of balance.

I know what you guys are thinking.. Huh? A stretching class?! So boring and useless! But I beg to differ!

Although stretching is the most basic form of exercise, it actually helps to reduce muscle tension, increase range of movements in your joints, and improves blood circulation to various parts of the body, which in turns, causes an increase in energy levels!

While waiting for the class to begin..

Before the class starts, the instructor would usually ask around to check if there are any newcomers (unless the class is specifically an intermediate class). This is to allow the instructor to keep an eye on you and ensure your safety, preventing any unnecessary injury throughout the class.

If you are a newcomer, it is very important to remember that safety comes first. Always remember that everyone has their own limitations and if you do not feel comfortable with any movement or positions, do not attempt them and risk injuring yourself.

Moving on! Like all other classes, it would begin with a warm up. Some breathing and light stretching..

I went into the class thinking, "It's just stretching, nothing I can't handle!" Boy was I wrong.

I did face some difficulties in class, since I have a lower back problem and really tense muscles, which makes it hard for me to stretch. But as always, I pressed on without admitting defeat!

Ahem.. Can you see my muscles? *raises shifty eyebrows*

I am utterly embarrassed that this is my best plank position *facepalm*

And.. I can only hold it there for 2 seconds because I was afraid of injuring my lower back!

20 minutes into the class and I was already begging for it to end!

Aching arms!! :p

This picture is priceless I swear. Check out my expression! I couldn't stretch in the same way that was demonstrated because my muscles are too tight and not flexible!

I pulled my lower back muscle here.. Which left me lying there for quite awhile.. But I managed to stretch the pain away! :)

Just before the class ends, the instructor will take about 5-10 minutes to lead everyone in a cool down session.

With the hottie instructor, Claudia! She was very encouraging throughout the class and gave alternative moves for the newbies and those who were confident on taking it to a level higher.

It is very important to incorporate exercise into your lifestyle because not only does it improve your overall quality of life and well being, exercising helps you to sleep better at night. You would not only look, but feel better!

I always stress that looking your best, comes with hard work! There is always no easy way out. If you are fat, it is solely your fault because you are lazy and I will have no pity for you! Complaining does not help you lose weight okay?

As I've mentioned earlier, everyone is different and have very different capabilities and limitations. At the same time, you need to look at your fitness goals and objectives. Thus, I would advise that you find the right combination of exercises that works best for you!

As I've mentioned in my previous facial entry, my complexion has more or less healed and my main problem with my complexion at the moment is to treat the scarring. Based on my research, I could either do a chemical peel, get a subcision or do an IPL treatment.

I've always wanted to try doing a Light Radiance Treatment and Amore was very kind to have sponsored me with 2 Purus O2 Derma-Lift Light Radiance Treatments!

The Purus O2 Derma-Lift Light Radiance treatment combines the renowned light technology and O2 advanced technology, which is an award winner in Japan for 2 consecutive years. Basically what the treatment does is, it speeds up skin regeneration, recovery and balances moisture level and oil sebum. It allows the skin cell to absorb a high percentage of the natural ingredients to stimulate the production of skin cells renewal while it helps to increase the oxygenation level and stimulate the production of collagen to redefine the skins' structure.

About 2 weeks ago, I headed to Amore Fitness Boutique Spa at City Square Mall for my first O2 Derma-Lift Light Radiance treatment!

I love going to Amore because it is my form of escapism and relaxation. I like the rustic feel and the scent of aromatic oils in the air. It gives you the impression and feeling of being in a resort spa, far away from the hectic lifestyle and buzz of living in Singapore! I especially love going to the outlet at City Square Mall, because it is located away from the buzzing city.

When you first arrive for your appointment, you would be required to fill in a quick questionaire before taking you into the changing room.

Here, they provide you with a sarong, robe and slippers to change into. After which, you may keep your belongings in the lockers provided.

The therapist will then lead you to the treatment room! :)

After nicely tucking you under the warm covers, the therapist will begin the session with aromatic oils. After rubbing the aromatic oil in between her hands, she would then place her palms over your face for you to breathe in and relax, before going on to massage your head.

After which, the cleansing begins! The therapist will do a double cleansing, to remove all trace of make up and dirt before starting the facial treatment.

I was a little apprehensive because I've heard that any treatments involving the light technology does tend to hurt a little. Someone once said that treatments involving the light technology feels like rubber bands snapping on your face! Fear factor + 5 But, I've always believed that beauty is nothing without pain! FIGHTING! :D

Now, the O2 Derma-Lift Light Radiance treatment is different from the other treatments that I've tried out at Amore. For this treatment, there is no steaming and extraction process.

Instead, the therapist will apply a coat of cold gel onto your face. As it was my first time, the therapist had applied the cold gel to only half my face first.

She then covered my eyes, before starting up the machine! Honestly though, the machine sounded as though it was calling out for storms and typhoons O.O Fear factor + 5

So.. She started out with the first shot! Which startled me and made me twitch a little :/ But, it was bearable!

In fact, not much pain actually! It feels like a needle prick or like, mini electric shocks. On more sensitive areas like around my hairline and forehead, it was slightly more painful.

But honestly speaking, in comparison to the pains from extractions on my previous treatments, this really didn't hurt as bad!

The therapist mentioned that for an average person, it would take about 30 shots for each side of the face.

After she had completed the treatment on half of my face, she went on to the other side!

Upon the completion of shots on my entire face, the gel was then removed.

She goes on to apply the mask for this treatment, which bites or causes the face to itch a little! I usually like this part because I subconsciously convince myself that the biting feeling is eating up all the impurities and dead skin on my face! ^^V

While waiting for the mask to dry and while I drift in and out of sleep, the therapist goes on to give me a nice and relaxing shoulder massage! Now if you're a noob to massages, it can hurt quite a bit. But it's really damn relaxing!

After about 20 minutes, it's time to remove the mask! A foamy, mousse is applied over the mask, to ease the removal process. I like this part because you can feel the mousse bubbling on your face and it can be quite ticklish!

After which, she cleanses my face again to ensure that everything is removed!

And tadah! The end of the treatment! :(

I don't if you guys can tell though, my complexion looks alot brighter and whiter! In fact, it's not even dull! Although Val did mentioned that all I'd have to do now is IPL my eyebags, to remove the prominent darkness under my eyes -_-"

After the treatment, it's back to the changing room! They have a dresser there with supplies like tissue, comb, hair dryer etc, in case you need to doll yourself up! I usually don't bother at all because it is not recommended that you pile on anything after a facial, to give your skin some time to breathe and recover!

All done and satisfied as I usually am! :)

After changing up, the consultants would then serve you with dessert and tea, while sharing with you their latest available promotions.

Aside from a brighter and lighter complexion, I have not seen much differences in my complexion yet. I believe that the key to healthy skin is maintainence. Just like my previous treatments, results are not obtained over night, but over a course of time.

I am excited for my next treatment, but before that, I will be blogging about my experience attending a signature class at Amore Fitness! More about that soon! Do look out for it!

Story of My Complexion and Me

WARNING : MANY HIDEOUS PICTURES OF ME W/O MAKE UP!

I know a lot of you guys have been asking me about how I improved my complexion, so this is my secret/story! :)

About 1.5 years ago, a friend of mine commented that I shouldn't call myself a girl, because I don't take care of my complexion. I didn't go for regular facials, which caused my face to develop a lot of black and white heads.

This is a picture of me before I had started going for regular facial treatments, with 2 way cake on and as you can see , there is some redness on my nose and the area around my lower cheeks. What I'd usually do was to slap on more foundation to conceal these redness.

Now I know you guys are probably thinking, "Whaatt.. You're complexion is not bad at all!" Yup, until I went for my first facial treatment in years and had all the hidden black and white heads extracted.

I headed to Amore Fitness Boutique Spa for my first facial treatment. The therapist had assessed my skin type, which was oily and had then recommended that I do a Dermo-Purifying Facial Treatment, which is "designed to rebalance oily skin, thanks to sebo-regulating, mattifying and purifying active ingredients."

This picture was taken right after my first facial treatment,

Yes, my skin was very clogged and congested because I didn't take care of it despite my mum's constant naggings! After my first facial treatment, I was advised not to use any foundation because it would further clog my skin. So from there, I completely stopped using make up altogether for about 4-5 months.

Ever since my first facial treatment, I had made it a point to go for a regular facial each month! The next few pictures were taken after every facial treatment that I had undergone.

And after my 4th or 5th facial treatment, I started breaking out in acne :'( I hear many people going, "ARE YOU SURE?!" Nah, proof!

Acne can be caused by several factors, such as stress and hormonal imbalances. However, from my personal experience though, I had an outbreak because the first few facial sessions that I had gone through, had only cleared the visible black and white heads, and not the excess sebum that is trapped on the underneath. Once that had been cleared, the excess sebum that is clogged on the underneath can now come out. Thus, the outbreak.

My acne problem was so bad, that even with BB cream, you can clearly see the acne and blemishes. I didn't want to apply concealer directly on the acne, fearing that it might further clog my skin. This problem continued for about 3 months before it started to heal!

After my 10th treatment or so, my complexion is left with just some redness and scarring,

This was taken about 2 months ago! :)

To date, I do have various scarrings due to my acne, but they are hardly visible except for the one above.

The improvement of my skin condition did not only stop at the treatments that I had been undergoing at Amore Fitness Boutique Spa. Having good skin, also means having the discipline when it comes to home care.

I had purchased a Dermo-Purifying Mask (which is the mask that is also used during my treatments) from the spa and use it once or twice a week, depending on the condition of my skin. What I have noticed is that, this mask would calm my skin and cause it to be less inflamed. And this is one of the products that I swear by.

I had also purchased a Dermo-Purifying Gel, which I had used to treat my acne. Another product that is really awesome, but very expensive for upkeep. These two products had really worked wonders for my skin!

However, due to the Dermo-Purifying treatments that is very drying for the skin, my skin type has now changed from oily to dry. So now, I only use the Dermo-Purifying Mask, once a week, if not when needed. Other than that, I use hydrating masks and products to ensure that my skin doesn't become excessively dry.

I am really glad with the outcome of my skin condition and after the experience that I've had with my complexion, I have now become more disciplined in looking after my skin!

My Dad's 66th Birthday

Last month, the man of my life turned 66!

As pessimistic as this sounds, I'm really quite afraid at how time flies.
I am so scared of the little time I have left with my aging parents.
But no doubt, I really hope that they do live to a ripe age
because I really wouldn't know what to do without them,
especially my dad.

So I arranged to have a family dinner at Sakura in Dhoby Ghaut.
My 2nd brother and his family couldn't make it cause they were on holiday.

So it was just my oldest brother, his fiance, my dad and I.

Cleo Runway Search 2011

Thanks to Suhana, I had tickets to attend the Cleo Runway Search 2011! :)

The event took place at the Audi Fashion Festival tent, at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.
My date for the event, my silly NERD Sarah! <3

This picture was taken at the waiting area in the tent,
which was intensely warm and packed like sardines with many sweaty people!

There were some ventilating fans/blowers in the waiting area,
but it was either not blowing enough air or it was spoilt.

Finally inside, where there was ventilation!! *breathes*

We were so excited, I think our feets were being tappy!
*taptaptap*

I didn't take pictures because 1) the models were walking really quickly,
2) there were many screaming heads in my angle
3) it was hard to get the lighting right

I know, I'm such a terrible blogger :/

As most of the girls at the event (whether you'd like to admit or not),
Sarah and I were busy critiquing the girls that were on stage.

"Ooh!! I like that girl, she's so pretty!!"

"Oooh this one walks very nicely!"

"Her facial expression is abit odd.."

That kinda stuff you know?

The fashion show went rather quickly I must say,
in comparison to all the waiting that we had done.

While waiting for the judges to deliberate,
we were entertained by local performers who did a remix of Like A G6,
which wasn't so bad! :p Impressive for local talent!

Not long after, the winner was announced!
Managed to snap these blurry pictures :/

That basically marked the end of the event.
Sarah and I rushed out, cause D had already been waiting since 5pm.

Anyways, we didn't leave the event empty handed!
We were each given a goodie bag which contained,

1 issue of Cleo,
a bottle of Bliv's Squeaky Clean,
1 free pass at Pure &
a Ahava Foot Cream (which I absolutely love!!)

Media Screening of Mr Popper's Penguins

Yesterday, Val and I attended the media screening of Mr Popper's Penguins!

Honestly, we weren't really looking forward to the movie because the trailersthat we've seen and the ad itself doesn't seem appealing.

Anyways, it was a mad rush to the cinema after we left work and we were late!

When we got to the cinema doors,
we were told to deposit our mobile phones, mp3's & cameras.

First time I've attended a screening where we had to deposit our phones :/

I loved the movie!
The penguins were adorable and the movie was just hilarious!

After the movie, Val and I managed to run to SASA for a quick shop!
Damn excited to the max cause I found a last bottle of root lifter there!
Fyi, I swear by this product because it makes my hair look AMAZING.

I've been to 3 different outlets before and they all told me that,
the brand had discontinued that range of products :(
But when I asked the girl yesterday, she mentioned that they were
out of stock for about half a year but stocks are still coming in! :D

Will blog about my purchases in another post!

Obsessed

Every now and then, I get a little obsessed with buying a certain make up product.

Now I've always been obsessed about purchasing a blush/bronzer
from NARS and well, I got bumped into finally doing it when Sharmain
mentioned about her purchase on twitter! *chews fingers*

So I finally got my hands on my first NARS purchase today!
I got a blush in Orgasm, which is a peachy pink colour with shimmer!

It looks so yummy; I've waited so long for this and the fact that it is not
readily available in stores here in Singapore, makes me not want to use it!

I know right? :/

But of course, nothing's gonna stop me from dabbing my brush into this!

I heard that it's pretty pigmented, so one swipe goes a long way!
Gonna try this out tomorrow! :D

I know this is a little too soon, but I'm already thinking about getting
Deep Throat or Laguna next! But don't tell my friends okay?
I'm supposed to be on a no shopping ban! :)

My next obsession on a make up product is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.
Let's see how long before I get my hands on that!

Went to visit the sinseh yesterday after work,

and unlike other people who come out with bruised wounds,
mine went away instantly!

The sinseh mentioned that I have gout and should avoid beans and walking :/

Unbelievable. 23 years old with anxiety, gastric and gout.
No wonder everyone calls me a sick chicken. Bah!

Thankfully though, I can bend my knee today! :)
Now, I just have to make sure that I finish the meds from the sinseh. Gag.

This whole week has been pretty packed for me, except for Tuesday, where I managed to nua at home and charge up some battery to last the week!

My older brother went to Phuket on Wednesday and he left his car with me for the week! Didn't sleep the night before, because I was either 1) anxious 2) alert from the vitamins that I've been taking. Had to get ready at 5.30am just to drop him off at the airport!

Been driving to work for the past few days and seriously, driving an Automatic transmission car is seriously a joy! I don't get why people who drive an Auto has to complain when they get stuck in a jam. I mean, all you have to do is step on the damn brake or let go!

It's been so convenient having a car, I don't think my life will go back to normal when I have to start squeezing in MRT's come Monday :(

So what have I been up to for the last week? School, dinner with my family, running errands, gosh. I haven't been able to catch up on the lack of sleep that I've been having!

Woke up this morning feeling terrible and dragged myself to work. I swore that I wasn't gonna make it through the day. But after my 3rd cup of tea, I'm charged up!

Anyways, the weekend is here! Are you guys pumped up? I've got a project meeting bright and early tomorrow and I've another early day on Sunday because I've to pick my brother up from the airport! Don't know how I'm going to survive the weekend, but wish me luck!

My May's Must Have!

Heard about Soap & Glory's Trick & Treatment from somewhere, I think it was a recommendation on a magazine or something. So when I popped by Sephora, I decided to give it a go!

Been in search of a good neutralizer since the one that I had gotten from the Make Up Store is rather drying. This neutralizer comes in a liquid form, with an applicator! I wouldn't say that I love this product, but I make do it with it and it's part of my daily routine.

Urban Decay's Primer Potion, which is a must have for me! I was previously using Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but it doesn't work as well for me. Got a sample size previously from my Urban Decay's Naked Palette and haven't looked back since! :)

And lastly, I got a Mac eyeliner in the colour Duck! And it has since replaced my Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Whiskey, which also came as a sample with the Urban Decay Naked Palette and apparently, it isn't sold on its own :(

Contented with my make up buys this month! I think..

We headed to Orgo @ Esplanade, as chosen by the birthday girl!
The view was amazing and the food was just as good! :)

We shared some appetizers and a few mains, which was yummeh!

My pretty babe is finally 23!

Drama aside, it was a very nice & relaxing dinner that we had

Dinner with Relatives

I was informed at the very last minute that my aunty from KL was in town,
so I decided to join my mum and the rest of my aunts for dinner! :)

Initial plan was to head down to Straits Kitchen, but because it was full,
we had to switch our dinner venue to Carousel!

Oysters were very fresh but the rest of the food wasn't as fabulous as it usually is.

With my aunt from KL,

Conversations at the table included apologies and mostly,
making up for the loss of time.

I had a very short but good conversation with my aunt,
and on the account that I haven't seen her in years,
I think I made quite an impression!

For the first time ever, I felt like I wasn't being judged for my opinions.

Having dinner with all my aunts was wonderful!
And it just reminded me of how much I miss spending time
with the rest of my relatives and even my family!

So for those who are busy with work, school, friends,
never forget to include time for your family and relatives!

Monthly Facial Treatment

This picture was taken before I headed out for a facial session with mama bear!
It's been about a year since I started my regular monthly facial treatments!
My complexion has improved alot but unfortunately, I have scars now :(

Anyway, my most recent facial session was pretty painful!
Haven't had much extractions done in the last few treatments,
but this time there were alot of extractions to be done!
Plus, it was before the time of the month, so I was alot sensitive to pain.

Quite pleased with my complexion now except for the scars.
Next up, really wish I could do something about my eyebags!

Shopping Date with Sarah

Met up with Sarah for a shopping date last week,
after I had my 3rd cervical cancer jab! :)
(Ahem, thanks Sarah for holding my hand through the jab!)

I love shopping with Sarah because she really helps me pick out the best stuff!
The bad thing is, she encourages everything! But still, mad ♥ !

Got my hands on a few dresses, rings and two awesome hats!
Been obsessed with my hats for the last week, lol.

I went to Metro with an intention to stock up on my make up stuff,
but couldn't find some brands at the outlet in Paragon.
But here's some stuff that I got from Metro with my gift card!

I've been looking around for a good loose powder and
Sarah recommended me to check out Laneige.

I'm not really picky about my loose powder, except that
the current one that I'm using from Kate is little coarse.

We went to the counter and the sales assistant explained quite
abit about the product and the application; and I was sold!
The powder was very smooth and it smelt really good!

Aside from that, I got my hands on the Laneige Water Sleeping Pack!
I've heard many people rave about this and well, it's just convenient!
Been using it daily ever since. Haven't seen any difference yet though..

The sales assistant was really nice and provided us with free samples!
Haven't had the time to try them out yet, but maybe I will today!

Also, I had to get my hands on the OPI Shatter nail polishes!

I actually popped by Metro at City Square Mall to get my
Revlon Photoready Foundation! But I got it in the wrong shade,
and now I've to make my way back to get it changed! ^%@*&

Next up, popped by Watson's to stock up on my Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion
and the Hado Labo Hydrating Masks! Products that I swear by!

Ever since I've been going for facials to treat my acne,
my skin type has changed from oily to dry!

So to kinda balance out the drying treatments that I've been doing,
I've incorporated hydrating products into my daily skincare regime! :)

Gotta thank Sarah for the awesome company!
I miss having her around daily!!

For our next shopping date, Sarah and I are gonna conquer Bugis! Can't wait!

Last week was a pretty eventful week at work,
because one of my colleagues is heading back to Shanghai :(

I am quite close to her..
One of those who were very welcoming when I first joined the company.

Will definitely miss having her around, whether its her coming to my desk

to share snacks or check out new cutesy girly stuff together and shopping!

A few of us at work got this for her as a farewell present and
something for her to remember us with,

Then on the same day, we had Macy's birthday celebration!

After which, it was a farewell dinner for Lucia at Ion's HK cafe!
I swear the glutinous rice in Lotus leaf is damn awesome!!

The next day, we had a surprise farewell lunch for her at work! :D

Unbelievable but it's been almost 2 years since I've been with the company.
And I believe that it's about time, I look out for better opportunities.

I love the people at work, I do.
But I need to start carving out my career path and gain more experiences.

Samantha Vega Launch Party @ Zouk

After the Metro Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion show at Paragon a few weeks back,
Jasmine and I had a quick dins before we rushed down to
Zouk for the Samantha Vega Launch Party!

Looks like I was carrying a monster in there.

I didn't take much pictures because I was leaning in the back,
thanks to my literally killer heels and there were too many heads in my pictures.

After the event was over, Jasmine and I hung around with the intention to club.
But our heels were really taking the life out of us!

Overwhelmed

Perhaps it is my past, that has resulted in me being constantly paranoid and easily overwhelmed by my emotions. Sometimes I don't understand why I can't be normal and take things in my stride without "overreacting".

I've been on pills for about 2 months now to manage my anxiety problem and really, I wouldn't know what I'd do without them. It was discussed with my doctor that we do want to eventually take me off the medication, but I don't foresee that happening anytime soon.

I am a little frustrated because at this point of time, I really want to focus on school and getting myself a new job that will give me a head start in my career. To add, you have no idea how much I hate my job right now. But because of all my financial commitments, I really cannot be selfish and make a impulsive move. Instead of focusing on what is important to me right now, all these unnecessary drama is starting to unfold in terms of my relationship and even friendships.

I've been giving priority to both my relationship and friendships in the last week, knowing well that I should be preparing for my exam on Tuesday instead. I guess I should've have known better and get things straight, and focus on what really is important right now because I'm weighed down with all these emotions.

Since the weekend has passed, I've been having heart palpitations and rushes of anxiety, while I sit here playing back the week and thinking over my decisions. No matter how hard I try, I can't get this load off my back.

My exam is in 2 days. I still haven't started any revision.

After everything, I should seriously try very hard not to fuck this up.

Having a terribly tough day.
Sorta got into this fight with D,
I'm exhausted and I hate my job.

Not to mention, I had a study session which proved to be useless
because my oldest brother and mum were texting me non stop,
asking me to run errands when I specifically said I was mugging.

Well at least there's something to look forward to tomorrow.
It's TGIT again; Starting with a trip down to Zouk with the best friends
before my long leave starts Friday-Tuesday! :)

Zinira's 1st Birthday Party

Two weekends ago, we celebrated Zinira's 1st birthday party!
If you don't know who Zinira is, she is the most adorable baby on earth!!

Okay, she's my brother's precious daughter and I adore her to death!

Anyways, so my big bro and his gf came to pick mumsy and I up,
before heading over to my second brother's place to prepare!

Helped blow up the balloons with helium, prepared games for the kids,
hung up the pinata and decorated the place!

The place was decorated with loads of pinks and pretty princessy stuff!

She's a really shy babygirl and she was really uncomfortable with
the gajillion people over at my brother's place!

Last Day of Magazine Writing & Production

Today was our last class for this module! *throws sushi around*
We had a celebratory dinner of sushi! Hehehehe..

It was also our final presentation and our lecturer gave us a few good comments!
She mentioned that even though we started off rocky and we were lost,
we did step up to her expectations and did well for today!

Nothing beats hearing positive comments from the lecturer
after days of sleep deprivation and added costs from cabbing home,
as a result of the late nights of this module :/

It's Friday tomorrow and I've no plans!
I wanna go out, but I know that I should fully make use of the time
to rest if not, study for my upcoming exam in a week's time!

Extreme Madness

My mind is telling me to switch off, but my heart is telling me to push forth.
I don't know how I do it, but I do because I know it's gonna be worth it.

I've never imagined myself working this hard for school.

Despite my persistence, I threw an assignment for one of the modules that I took.
I was lucky though..
I escaped with a Distinction while my group mates got a High Distinction.
And I swore never to be conceited with my work anymore.

To the extent, I stayed home the entire weekend to work on my project & report.
And it's actually completed 2 days ahead of time, which is impressive for me! :)

I shall prepare my presentation notes tomorrow and rehearse with my
group mates for the final presentation on Thursday!

Hopefully, we'll ace this one!
It's a Distinction/High Distinction or nothing!

Collective Make Up Loot

Some time ago, the MAC Wonder Woman collection came out. When I saw pictures of the collection online, I was a little disappointed because the exterior had a cheap & plastic feel to it and decided that it wasn't really worth it to make a trip down to have a look on its launch date.

One weekend, D took me to Vivo City and I couldn't resist all temptation of walking into MAC. Almost immediately after taking a swatch at the collection, I knew exactly what I wanted! I didn't want to make any impulsive purchases, so I decided to think it over. Then I realised that I had Isetan vouchers from my DND that is waiting to be spent!

When the MAC Wonder Woman collection launched at Isetan, I sped all the way down after work! Unfortunately though, the lipstick that I wanted was already out of stock :( But these were what I left the store with!

MAC Wonder Woman Mineralize Skin Finish in Pink Power;
MAC Lady Gaga Lipstick in Viva Glam 2;
MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in UltraDarling
MAC Sheertone Blush in Tenderling

The Lady Gaga Viva Glam 2 is a nude lipstick with a tinge of brown in it!
Quite similar to the colour that I have, Blankety, except Blankety has a
pinkish hue to it!

Been wanting to get a bright coloured lipstick in either Coral or Red,
but I've been too afraid that I wouldn't be able to pull it off!
I've actually been eyeing the Vivi Glam Cyndi Lauper lipstick, but
it seems like they weren't restocking it! So when the sales assistant
recommended this colour, I was sold immediately!

Although it looks more like a red lipstick in the picture,
the colour is actually a bright coral pink!

Love it, but have not found an occasion to wear it!

I have been absolutely obsessed with this skin finish!! It comes in 3 colours,
a bronzer, 2 highlights in gold and pink, which made the price that I paid for really worth it!

I've been using this in my everyday routine now!
Bronzer to contour, gold for highlights and the pink on the apple of my cheeks!

Next, Val got this for me while she was at the MAC private sale!
If I'm not wrong, this collection was released somewhere near Christmas!
A purple eye shadow palette from the MAC Tartan collection!

I love purple on my eyes! :D

And lastly, I got this Dollywink Volume Mascara sometime last month!
Been absolutely in love with it! It gives my eyelashes a falsies effect
and it can be easily removed, in comparison to my Majolica Majorca mascaras!

The cons though, is that my eyelashes loses its curl mid day :(
But to tackle this problem, I bring my mini eyelash curler with me!

That's it for my recent purchases of make up and today's entry! :) I should really stop spending, but I spent a total of less than $100 bucks for the above loot! Hehe! I feel so accomplished! <3

Project Woes

I'm about 6 months or more into my degree programme and I guess the current module that I'm taking is by far, the most difficult one I've encountered. I used to think that the Australian lecturers were tough to impress, but not until we got this local lecturer.

Ever since I've gone back to school, I've been a completely different person. I push myself harder than usual to excel and ensure that slogging it off in a job that I absolutely hate, just to pay for my fees will be worth it.

I hardly skip school, in fact I don't think I've actually missed one lesson and I'm always early for my classes. Notes all prepared and filed, my attention is strictly focused on the lecturer. But for this module, I don't even have a file, let alone notes! Our notes and instructions are all over the place, some are posted in the SIM portal, some are in our emails. Everything's just too damn messy and confusing! When I do get my notes, it seems like what are in there are pointless because it won't even be tested in the exam! @^$#*$@%$@

Anyway, my group mates and I have been excelling with our projects for the past few modules, so it was really devastating to find out that we failed our combined 1st and 2nd presentation.

Somewhere after, I blew up at one of my group mates (let's call her Ms Nono, since she always says NO to everyone's suggestions and ideas and persistently insists that she is right) because I've had enough of her selfishness and arrogance. I am the type of person that basically tries to contain myself, until I've reached a breaking point and well that's when I give hell to that person. I still don't think that I was wrong to have blown up at her.

Here's what the situation was; I could only meet on Friday, two could only meet on Saturday and the rest was okay to meet on both days. I went for the meeting on Friday and it turns out, the other person couldn't make it, so it was just this girl and I. We brainstormed on a lot of ideas for the project and to end it off, I emphasized that this information had to be communicated to the rest of the group.

I found out on Sunday that this girl didn't turn up for the meeting on Saturday, which meant that whatever that was discussed was not conveyed to the rest of the group. And we got the final draft from her, whatever that was discussed on Friday and Saturday, was not in it. Yup, everything that was in the final draft were her ideas in which we felt, could not be presented because it was on the wrong track and we could not afford to fail this presentation.

I told her off because it's not fair to make the rest of the group waste our time and brainstorm on ideas which were not going to be used. Plus, this is the group project and it requires a group effort. I speak on behalf of the rest of the group, where we do not wish to be spearheaded in the wrong direction!

Anyway since then, she has been ignoring the group and does not say a word during our discussions. On our last lesson, we received our marks and of course, we were not happy with it. So the group decided to see the lecturer after our lesson to discuss what needed to be done in order to ace our last presentation. Ms Nono decided to approach the lecturer, without us *rolls eyes* Ya, how mature for a 26 year old. What's the point of approaching her on your own? So that you can come back to us and say that we're wrong because the lecturer said this this this to you ?

I mean honestly speaking, my point of blowing up at her was not to sow any discord. I kinda expected her to be mature and move forward. Yes, maybe the approach that I used was wrong but I'm sorry to say, that if I said it nicely, my point would not have been put across because of her arrogance. Even when the lecturer marks her down for her own work, she'll go "This is so stupid, why are we even doing this" I mean really, you're asking this question? If you think that you are so bloody above it all, then why the hell are you still here? QUIT. This will be a personal attack, but since you are so smart, why are you doing your degree at the age of 26 again? Oh wait, 27.

The entire group almost dreads going to school now, because we are stuck with such a person and honestly, this will be the last time we work with her. If you cannot value anyone but yourself, you deserve to be on your own.

Pft! That was my rant. It's a Saturday night and guess what? I am at home! *rolls around in bed happily* Even though I've been on leave most of this week, it felt like the longest week in my entire life because I was too busy shuffling around (not literally, figuratively) between family, work, school, personal errands! You can't imagine how elated I was to wake up late today and enjoy the rest of the afternoon with a good scrub down! :D

Oh alright, I lied. I am not rolling around in bed happily. I'm just done with doing the laundry, so I'm gonna hang the clothes, maybe do some household chores and get down to working on my project! :)

For years now, I've noticed that my dad had a slight tinge of blue/grey to his eyes and believed that it wasn't normal. I've asked multiple times whether he could see clearly, but he insisted that he just needed to have his spectacles changed.

Of course, while at the optician's trying to get his spectacles changed, the optician told him that he has cataracts in both eyes and should visit the doctor soon. So off he went for a consultation and then, he went for an operation without informing my brothers and I. Basically, this operation was necessary to ensure that there is sufficient water in his eye. If he had the cataracts removed and there isn't sufficient water in the eye, it could eventually lead to blindness.

Anyway, I made sure that I took a day off work to accompany my dad to the hospital. After all, he's been there for me everytime without fail and this is the least I could do. Be the filial child and support him when he needs me, even though he does not ask.

This was taken before the operation, my dad acting all sud and brave.

I have to salute my dad because his bravery act continued for quite awhile, until he saw people getting wheeled out on a bed. That's when he started to panic and honestly, I wasn't doing too well myself. The fact that I was surrounded by senior citizens and the people that came with them were fairly mature adults, I felt a little intimidated and unsure whether I was strong enough to be there on my own?

Anxiety set in and I started to panic, with thoughts of what if's running through my head. All I could do was pray that everything went smoothly and when he's out, he'd be just as good as new. I distracted myself during the waiting time with my psp and when my dad's name was called out, I was overwhelmed with seperation anxiety. I didn't want to leave my dad :( Of course, he kept pushing me away and told me to go grab something to eat.

Honestly, I couldn't bear waiting alone for the next few hours. So I headed over to Vivo City to meet up with my second brother, instead of me having to wait at the hospital. While waiting for him to knock off, I managed to get my SIM card changed at Starhub and even squeezed in some window shopping to take the worry off my mind!

When my brother finally knocked off from work, we had a catch up lunch! Felt really awesome to be away from work and stress, enjoying the day with the company of my family. After about 2 hours, we finally got a call from the hospital informing us that my dad was out of the operation theatre.

The next day, my dad was due for a review in the morning. So I had to take leave off from work again to ensure that my dad was accompanied. Thankfully, my oldest brother stayed with me this time.

Before the consultation with the doctor, my dad had to undergo some eye tests which kinda brought a terribly heavy feeling to my heart. My heart sank even deeper in the consultation room with the doctor, because he said that my dad's cornea was swelling up. I know I know, this might probably be normal but it would've been assuring to have heard that all is good. Especially since neither of my siblings and I live with my dad, it doesn't leave a good feeling knowing that he's alone and not well. How can I be certain that he is okay, when I'm not with him?

The worse feeling came when my brother handed him the queue number and my dad held it upside down and read :'( My dad clearly couldn't see and to think, he has been insisting that he could manage on his own?!

I love my parents very much, even though they didn't exactly gave me the perfect life. But I believe that they really loved me well and if anything, taught me how to stand on my own two feet earlier than others. I really wished that I could provide the best, for both of them. But it always has to be either, or.

So whatever that I do for my dad and how much time that I spend with him, I treasure. Because my dad is the man of my life and noone could ever replace that position.

I've been calling him a multiple number of times a day, to check on his food intake and also to check whether he's getting enough rest. I wish I could be with him..

I'm taking my dad to second review today and hopefully his condition has gotten better. For all those who have been sending their well wishes, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I really appreciate the concern and my dad would too!

Metro Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Show

Over the weekend, I attended the Metro Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Show at Paragon! Jasmine accompanied me to the show and boy did we enjoy it! :)

The event had a posh set up in the atrium of Paragon and guests were served
with some light food and drinks!

The fashion show started at about 5pm and the line of clothes that were showcased
were rather trendy, vibrant and stylish! It definitely dismisses the idea of Metro
not catering to styles for younger women.

The outfits that were showcased ranged from casual dresses to work outfits
and even edgy ones that I would wear for a night out!
There were lots of floral and bold prints, alongside the bright colours for Spring & Summer!

Jasmine and I both found pieces that we would actually wear during the show.

Too Much Too Soon

I didn't have an intention of blogging today because it's a school night, which meant late night= less sleep, so time is very precious. But I feel so upset and emotionally exhausted today, I need to let off some steam.

My blackberry has been acting up since Monday. I'm guessing that it's a trackpad problem since it's been copying and sending things to people on its own, deleting stuff on its own etc. After 3 days of having this problem and knowing that I am having a terribly hectic weekend, I decided to take some time off work (also just to relax; away from the work stress)

I had to come home first to get some documents and to my horror, I came home to find some rather disturbing stuff. I don't wish to disclose on the exact matter for now, but I was really angry, upset and hurt all at one go. I was dumbfounded, I didn't know what to do and mostly, how could my mother do this. I spent the next hour trying to find out more information and tried to buy some time for the situation. The next hour was accompanied by a terrible headache and dizziness, while I tried to come to terms with the situation. Thankfully though, my dad was with me and he told me that these situations were normal. No dad, not to me. After putting everything behind us and getting back on our own two feet, I don't expect such things to happen again, or ever. I have successfully gotten myself some time to fix the situation, but the matter is still circling in the back of my head. Until I've had this settled, I don't think I can sleep in peace.

But anyway, I made my way to Starhub's Vivo City in a mad rush because I wanted to avoid the crowd and peak hour. Also, because I had to make my way to school after. After diagnosing my phone and verifying the warranty etc, I was informed that they would have to replace my blackberry. I kinda expected it and wanted to have it replaced in a way because that blackberry was in pretty bad shape with a broken keypad and chipped surface (after getting gnawed by my niece and multiple drops), but I was sad because that blackberry was special. My blackberry pin was fully in numbers!! *SIGH* Now I have a common blackberry, because it's a mix of numbers and alphabets. But, somehow my blackberry feels lighter! I am also damn sad because my blackberry no longer has a mirrored screen protector, zzz.

I was anxious about school ending because the bf was picking me up, after being busy and oversleeping for weeks now. More importantly, after the very hectic and emotionally draining day, I just needed to be in his arms. I enjoyed the slow drive home and the fact that, he wanted to know what was going on and it was a two-way conversation as opposed to the one-way conversation that we'd usually have.

It's been 2 days since I started my goal to give thanks each day. I read somewhere that giving thanks each day, helps a person to build a more positive personality and future for themself, because it makes them not only feel good, but notice that despite all the negative things that we face in a day, there is always something positive to be thankful for.

Day 1, I was thankful for my father, the man of my life and my pillar of support. Day 2, I was thankful for getting enough sleep. Today is Day 3 and I am thankful for my boyfriend. Thankful that today, he listened to me. I needed it and I appreciate it.

I am trying to build up on being more positive, which I believe is a start to being healthy, mentally. And for those of you who are having a terrible day just like me, give thanks. Maybe it'll help and tomorrow will be a better day, at least if we work towards it :)

Growth Dividends

Because everyone somehow ends up in my blog after googling for GST credits, so I will enlighten everyone with my minimal knowledge. This year though, its no longer GST credits that we are receiving but the growth dividends from the 'Grow & Share' package!

To cut the long story short, the full amount will be deposited into our accounts on the 1st of May 2011, as opposed to how the total amount was spread out and deposited into our account over the year 2010.

The minimum amount that you can receive is $100 and the maximum is $800! An additional $100 for those who is serving/have served NS!

Yay to more money! Now.. if only they would give me a house.

Not Everyone Has It Easy

Before this, I had drafted out an entry kinda explaining my life story in depth. I was ready to let it all out, but then I decided against it because really, I have nothing to prove. But the purpose of me writing this entry, is to let you guys know that noone has it easy. Especially not me.

For those of you who actually bother reading my entries as opposed to just scanning through the pictures, I know that you guys would probably describe me as a very emotional person. And it is because I am a very emotional person, it makes it harder for me to cope with stress.

I've never had an easy childhood. I was born with a silver spoon, but all that went away for as long as I can remember. My dad's business failed because he got swindled by his cousin and we almost had to declare bankrupt. My parents' marriage had failed and for as long as I could remember, I was the messenger in between. Despite living in the same home for years, they've been seperated since I was 10? I can't really remember much.. All I remember is the constant fighting. But well, they finally put things to an end when I was 15.

I took it quite badly which kinda led to the rebellious years of my life, where I tried smoking, drank alot and was always angsty, if not emotional. Some of these, you can read about in my archives. There would've been more, but I deleted the old blog in an attempt to "escape" from my ex-boyfriend.

It was very hard growing up because I always had little to spend during recess. I think I had about 10 dollars of allowance in upper primary, all the way to lower secondary. Sometimes, I'd get an extra 10 dollars from my dad because he earned a little bit more that week :/

I always believed that things would get better when I started earning my own keep, but apparently it doesnt. I started working at 16 because I didn't take my education seriously and I wasn't interested to. I did quite badly for my 'O' levels and worse, failed my maths twice after. Then again, I never really took my studies seriously until I ventured out into the working world and started paying for my own education.

Now at the age of 23, things haven't gotten any better aside from me, making an effort to start paving out my future. I'm tied down with my education loan, utility bills, daily expenses and of course, rent. To make matters worse, I don't know how long we can put up in my current home because my mum's and my combined income exceeds the requirements from HDB.

I've been thinking about getting a place but a resale flat is definitely out of the question, because I don't have any cash on hand! I have alot of financial commitment though! :/ I did think about applying for a BTO, but my mum's 60 and she has very little in her CPF and well as for me, the sum is disappointing.

Aside from that, I am constantly bugged out by the fact that my parents are aging and they already have some existing medical conditions. I constantly push myself to be committed to looking after both my parents, even though my dad lives alone. I try very hard to make time for him, despite my hectic schedule of shuttling between home, work and school.

Just the other day, I came out from a test and got a message from my brother telling me that my mum had a fall at work and they are at the hospital. I was shocked, afraid and upset all at one go, that I burst into tears right outside my classroom. And a few weeks ago, my dad told me that he had gone for an operation in his eye on his own which upset me even more! I mean, he has 3 children but he went for an operation on his own!?! It makes me look like a bad child and that's the last thing that I want! Because I make it a point to be filial to both my parents!!

Anyway, my dad is going for an operation next week for the cataracts in his eyes. I've always noticed that his eyes were out of the ordinary because they were bluish-grey, but he insisted that there was nothing wrong with his eyesight. On a recent medical check-up, the doctor had informed him that he had cataracts in his eyes and would require to have them operated. And I had specially taken a day off work, to take him to the hospital.

To add to all that's going on, I've been pushing myself extremely hard at school and have set high expectations for myself which can be a bad thing sometimes. I get very affected and beat myself up, whenever I fail to come home with a Distinction. And when I tell my parents about it, they tell me "It's okay, as long as you've done your best, it doesn't matter what grade you come back with." Gone were the days when my parents had to push me to have an education.

Today, I want an education for myself.

Because of all these problems that I've been facing, it has finally taken a toll on me, physically. I've been suffering from extreme pains in the stomach, constant fainting spells, IBS and nausea which can last for days.

The problems that I face are situational and no amount of counselling can help, which is why I'm at the last resort of being prescribed with medicines. These medications are to help me sleep better and also, to surpress my extreme anxiety.

The point of writing this entry, is for me to come to terms with these existing problems. They will be a constant in my life, at least for now. I write, not to ask for pity. But for you to have an understanding that noone has it easy in life.

We may not face the same problems entirely but everyone has their own set of problems. But there's always something to be thankful for. For me, I am thankful that despite having a broken family and all the problems we have been through, we have love that can never be measured. No matter how different we are, how different we look, how we have different beliefs and how we mostly don't get along, we are still a family and we will always be connected.

I am thankful for that; And I have worked very hard to be where I'm at today.

The Marmalade Pantry

Last Friday, Val and I headed to town for a weekend date!

Ever since I shifted to the East, I seriously hate going to town because I'd have to change trains to get home :( But I was lusting for the MAC Wonderwoman Collection and I had no choice (it was very worth it though! I will do up an entry on my make up haul soon!) but to drag my butt down to town! Thankfully, the distance between work and town is pretty near!

Val and I were running in between Lido and Ion for our make up! We tried to get the Naked palette but it sold out right when we got there! We were half tempted to steal it from a girl's basket. lol. Anyways after settling our make up and spasming in hunger, we decided to settle for The Marmalade Pantry for dinner!

I've not tasted the food there before, although I absolutely love their cupcakes!

OH MY GOD. This is damn random but all my life, I've always been the skinny girl and everyone is always telling me to eat more, eat more! And yesterday, I discovered that I am now, heavier and bigger in size, in comparison to Val O.O I better start working out to maintain my health and size, or I swear I will regret it and I won't feel sorry for myself because it would be all my fault!!

Oh alright, the weekend is here! I'm meeting up with the bestfriend for dinner later on, even though I have to rush off after. Excited!!
